CREDIT FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES: A STUDY ON KHULNA CITY CORPORATION, BANGLADESH

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) often face challenges in getting access to finance form banks other financial institutions. This study tries trace out such faced by the SMEs of Khulna city Bangladesh. The follows stratified random sampling technique select 60 interview respondents city. findings indicate that high rate interest, longer loan processing time complex security requirements are three prime obstacles finance. These hinder development SME sector. also influence credit on performance through running multiple linear regressions. Profit sales considered for measuring SMEs. regression results firm size have statistically significant positive profit firms having larger amount enjoying more compared with those smaller credit.
